The ever swelling Dubstep scene continues to pulse from its UK heart sending beefed up bass fuelled waves across the deepest of oceans and producing new talent popping up all over the world.

Two of the most exciting new producers come in the form of Canadian duo Zeds Dead who have stamped their mark on the scene with an innovative selection of gripping tracks and remixes.

Dubbed “The hottest new deuce on the scene” by Radio 1’s wizard of electro Kissy Sellout, the boys are creating a hot fuzzy buzz of arousal amongst some of the finest DJs of the moment.

Their style is a vivid compound of many forms of electronica with subtle glimmers of funk and mashed up indie. Combining luscious and lingering vocals with evil sounding splintered synths and warm growling bass is the basic foundation of their style which is then beaten and battered with pulses of wobbles, blips and beeps. The result conjures up visions of malfunctioning electronic household appliances coming to life and wreaking messy havoc upon their terrorised owners.

So far the majority of their work is remix based similar to the way that UK DJ and producer Jakwob has made his name. Their rework of Blue Foundation’s Eyes On Fire is both beautiful and disgusting at the same time which works to splatter a frenzy of pleasure across the musical tastebuds. Lazy sounding female vocals over a tenaciously plodding beat with spikes of electro jitters and jabs has never sounded better.

Their remix of Massive Attacks Paradise Circus is a particular favourite. Here The duo demonstrate their ability to create a energetic rework of a chilled out track whilst maintaining it’s original moodiness and laid back flavour.

They have already been coaxed away from the snowy hills of their home town of Ontario to the UK where they played alongside Bare Noize at Sound Control in Manchester last month, lets hope this will be the beginning of many more visits to come.

Their Bi-monthly brainchild event Bassmentality alongside their Toronto peers The Killabits has recently took a surge of power as it moves to new venue Wrongbar pumping thick blankets of bass through it’s Funktion1 soundsystem all summer. They were joined recently by UK Dustep maestro NERO.

Flux Pavilion is a young upcoming Dubstep DJ and producer from London, UK. His new new track “I Can’t Stop” is by far his biggest yet and is helping him make big strides forward in the industry. Flux Pavilion – I Can’t Stop, was recently selected as Zone Lowe’s hottest record in the world, and Radio 1xtra star Mistajam is also pushing the record with regularity. You may remember that back in August of last year we brought you the first sneak peak of the eagerly anticipated Tron Legacy, the follow up to the cultural icon that is the original 1982 Tron movie.

Today a new theatrical trailer for Tron Legacy was debuted at Comic Con 2010, which is taking place in San Diego this week. It is the third trailer to be released for the movie and gives us our best idea yet of what to expect from the film. The results are simply breathtaking and enough to make any film buff salivate.

Joseph Kosinski makes his feature film directorial debut with Tron: Legacy, while the previous film director, Steven Lisberger, returns as a producer. Jeff Bridges reprises his role as Kevin Flynn, and Bruce Boxleitner his roles as Alan Bradley and Tron, while Garrett Hedlund portrays Flynn’s now-adult son, Sam. The other cast members include Olivia Wilde, Beau Garrett, Michael Sheen and John Hurt. At over twenty-eight years, this film marks the longest gap between a live-action film and its theatrical sequel in Hollywood history.

Tron Legacy is released 17 December 2010.

Underworld have announced their first album in three years. “Barking” will be the name of the new LP, and it is to be released in September.

The first new single from the album, ‘Scribble’, was released last month, and is still available as a free download at Underworlds site.

Underworld, made up of Rick Smoth and Karl Hyde, are probably best known for their 1996 classic club anthem, ‘Born Slippy’. The hotly tipped new album by the legendary production duo will feature some hugely special collaborations with a number of producers from across the dance music spectrum. These collaborations include appearances from the trance legend Paul Van Dyk, techno superstar Dubfire, atmospheric dubstep producer Appleblim and the glam-electro house DJ D.Ramirez.

Having written the original material in their Essex studio, Underworld then sent out the basic tracks to the guest producers, who in turn added their own parts to the song. In this way ideas were bounced back and forth until the songs were completed.

Another track from the new album, named “Always Loved a Film”, was recently debuted on radio 1.

You’ll have to wait until September to hear the full album, when ‘Barking’ is released on Cooking Vinyl. If you just can’t wait ’til then, the official commercial release of ‘Scribble’ is the 28th of June, complete with drum and bass remix from Netsky.

Skream,  the co founder of Magnetic Man, who shot to fame with his remix of La Roux’s In for the Kill, returns with his latest offering of twisted Dubstep meets Drum & Bass: The Epic Last Song.  Skreams second album is set to drop at the end of July, and is called “Outside The Box”, which is certainly where Skream has been thinking. Taking conventional Dubstep and turning it on its head, this beauty will feature on the upcoming LP.

This is the ‘ORA’ concept watch, by Greek designer Alexandros Stasinopoulos.

The ‘ORA’ concept watch has a stunning and unique design that screams originality. It focuses on the display of time through an unconventional mode, by replacing the expected dial arrangement found in the vast majority of usual mechanical watches with a set of three interwoven tapes with a “tape-measure like” appearance – one which indicates the hour, one which indicates the minute, and one which indicates the date.

The casing design reflects an ‘inside-out’ design approach, as with the ORA Concept Watch, it was the mechanism’s
arrangement that prescribed the overall shape, in an attempt to enhance its uniqueness and create a distinctive silhouette.

Alexandros Stasinopolous is an award-winning designer (reddot design award, iF design award) educated in the domains of product design and product innovation & management, experienced in international, cross-disciplinary teamwork and management. A native-born Greek, he has been exposed to diverse cultural settings by living and studying in Italy, the Netherlands and Hong-Kong, as well as travelling around the world.
