The event will leave behind its Store Street comfort zone for one night only, taking the MADchester vibe down south and raining down the ultimate experience that so many northerners have craved each year, blasting it through the ultra hip Ewer Street Warehouse at Southwark.

The Promoters say:

“Already headlining one of he most anticipated shows of the Warehouse Projects Autumn/Winter series, Mancunian rock and dance crossover band Delphic will bring their invigorating live performances south, as they play and intimate live London gig on 29th October. More details are to follow on this event and a number of early-bird tickets are on sale for £10″

On top of the London Delphic announcement, an extra special Manchester event has also been revealed. Skream and Benga Present will go ahead on 15th December and promises to be an ultimate experience, blasting off chunks of electro carnage from across a mixture of styles through its truly pioneering and eclectic lineup, featuring Jack Beats, Shy FX, Toddla T, Geeneus and the mind-boggling antics of The Gaslamp Killer to name just a few.

Full details are can be found HERE and events are selling out fast so get your skates on!

The Warehouse Project is treating us to its return this September and once again they have outdone themselves with an outstanding collaboration of live acts and world renowned DJ’s performing over 34 shimmering events across 14 weeks of electronic splendour in the visually stunning warehouse space situated beneath Manchester Piccadilly Station.

The Warehouse Project is known and well respected internationally, praised for bringing together an ultimate blend of both international dance DJ’s and the finest of rock and indie acts in a series of weekend events that promise to shock and amaze all who attend.

The residents this year have been announced as Joy Orbison, Jamie Jones and Jamie XX who will all be popping up at numerous events throughout the journey amongst hundreds more innovative DJs and pinoneering bands such as Eric Prydz, Magnetic Man, Richie Hawtin, Chase & Status, Pete Tong, Ian Brown, Delphic, Four Tet, Joker, Booka Shade and Kelis to name just a handfull.

Maximo Park kicking off the series on Thursday 24th October followed by the viscus techno stylings of Joris Vorn on the Friday is surely a fine example of the twisted audio melting pot that the project has involved into.

Manchester’s industrial Store Street venue nestled beneath Manchester Piccadilly station provides the ultimate setting that perfectly complements the pulsing electro spectrum on display and makes for a dazzling experience that should not be missed. The schedule begins next month where it will then proceed to twist, shake and bounce it’s way through October, November and December finally culminating in its pinnacle climax for its Christmas and New Year blow out.

MIA has recently been added to lineup making the bursting selection of offerings over the 34 events seem quite a struggle to sort through and pick out the ones that work to entice you the most.

Grimy soul songstress katy B is surely about to smash up the charts with her dubstep infused single produced by Benga – Katy On A Mission.

Dubstep twinged tracks have been piling up on the radio1 daytime airwaves recently thanks to tracks from Rusko, Caspa and most recently Magnetic Man and it seems that the infectious genre is finally about to takeover.

Benga is back on form with his spine tingling electronic stomp on the production which provides the perfect backdrop to Katy B’s lingering urban soul drenched vocals. The pair are certain to scorch the charts with this perfect combination which will no doubt make some cracks for other similar artists to rip open whilst battling to make the move from underground to mainstream.

Dubstep’s journey has been quite immense. A sound that was born out of the murky South and East London grime and garage scenes has flourished and evolved over such a short space of time into a major player in current dance music. Popularized through artists such as Skream, Benga, Caspa and Rusko it has now finally found it’s female edge in Katy B which could further twist the style towards an even bigger audience.

Katy B also features on the Magnetic Man track Perfect Stranger. A Luscious trip through Dubstep and Drum n Bass with glimmers of trance and jungle perfectly finished by her powerful vocal.

Climbing aboard the 3 pound shuttle bus that hurtles away from Stratford Upon Avon station is like waving goodbye to a quaint picturesque vision full of Shakespeare orientated idyllic coffee shops, tea rooms and theatres and heading for a futuristic world of huge jelly shaped tents rumbling with masses of chaotic electro fuelled maniacs dressed in a concoction of outrageous costumes from tin soldiers to Where’s Wallys.

The bus is a like a mini festival in itself, as it scurries through winding country lanes it is shaken and rocked from the inside by stomping, screeching and chants of Global Global Global. The Driver must be steady nerved to ignore the mayhem happening behind him as he concentrates on transporting his flock of ravers to their destination – Global Gathering 2010!

Long Marston Airfield is robbed of it’s charming surroundings each year for world renowned dance music festival Global Gathering 2010. As the festival appears in sight the vision is of something truly surrealistic. Lurking space age style tents leer over like huge jelly robots waiting for their signal to attack. Neon big wheels and other fairground attractions dip in and of sight resembling robotic alien guards patrolling the surrounding skies as humans are forced to leap from the mighty bungee that towers above the twisted environment. The whole experience is swirling with various blends of electronic music that roll through the air creating a fuzzy cream that tops the whole place sparking the crowds into sporadic and on many occasions sweat drenched dance splurges.

Hoping off the bus and the vibes are catapulted through the air. The flock are instantly shepherded into a human river of shiny, sparkly, neon attire that flows like an army of colourful ants on a mission to find the worlds biggest sugar cube to tantalise their taste-buds. A bunch of erotically dressed female neon tin soldiers march on with excitement discussing The Bedrock lineup and which one of them could possibly coax Joris Voorn back to their tent for the night. A trio of Liverpudlians bounce along to the Burns set that is being blasted from the main stage, two of them feeling completely at ease to flex shapes from inside there Super Mario Brothers costumes.

Bustled through the entrance without a problem into the VIP area, which needs to be taken in with an almighty deep breath. Standing in this magical environment on the edge of some of the worlds most innovative electronic acts is something that needs to be appreciated. It’s like a futuristic paradise nestled snugly on the brim of a crazy, chaotic world of mental breakdown.

Huge baffling flowers crafted from rounded planes of timber stand round working to beckon people further in with their intriguing stances and exceptional lighting techniques. Luckily there are some perfectly placed twisted tree trunks dotted around which can be used to reload and soak everything in before heading off to the main stage where Stafford young gun Burn is still making the place bounce as he throws down splice after splice of bubbling electro fuelled decay that works to spread a thick dose of gleaming grins over the crowd.

On mission to tent up, the colourful and fruity situation is strangely relaxing. A grown man dressed as an eagle struts his funky dance to the pounding rhythm that seems to be a messy sounding mash up of HTID, Random Concept and GGX10 as we are caught in the cross fire of all three. The human bird is not put off though as he raises his fist then flaps his arms in mad appreciation for such a diverse sound.

Deciding to leave the tent in the safe hands of a few companions and head for the FWD/Rinse stage proves to a be a wise decision as the aroma of Grimes head honcho, Plastician, begins to spray the perimeter. Deep and heavy bass, drilled with swooshes of summery vocals and melodies that attract fellow sniffers in for a full on taste evoke the crowd into a summery mellowness. A Saturday afternoon has never been spent in finer company as he spins blessed bass to bop to that is soaked up by the lazy crowd. He bids farewell with his trademark closer Japan which massages over the bodies resulting in many of them dropping to their knees in a state of pure blissfulness.

After a brief wonder of the site, the sound of Jaguar Skills with his outrageous style firing out a belting concoction of electro fury is building up a major whirlwind on the main stage. He does his best to infiltrate a wide scope of genres as he wreaks havoc from deep inside, ripping them apart and splattering them back together in any way he chooses. Rocking the foundations of stable genres until they topple with confusion is what he enjoys and he does it with the up most of flamboyance. His early evening set is one of the stand out performances of the festival with it’s energy and stride that works to make sure nobody is left flat footed. Funk, Soul, Jazz, HipHop, Electro, Jungle, Dubstep, Drum & Bass and Breakbeat infused and twisted with crowd involving vocal samples so tightly it’s all about to go off with more than a bang!

As the set winds to an end the finger tip tingles kick in. Even this early it must be a positive sign that what the afternoon and evening has just set up, is surely about to continue long into the early hours of Sunday morning. A mountain of a man covered head to toe in blue neon body paint lies in a flabbergasted pose flat on his back in the grass. Spiralling orange horns protrude from his sweat drenched Lycra mask which is half rolled up his face revealing his instantly recognisable expression that beams ‘I am living the dream’!

The batteries are recharged fully and as the night sky lingers overhead the stages and tents become ever more spectacular. It’s hard to ignore the sliced and diced electronic hip hop fusion that is rattling from the main stage as The Scratch Perverts are deep in session, but the inbred satellite navigation has been set to Joker and has no intention of malfunctioning tonight.

Memorizing waves of purpleness chuff from the FWD/Rinse stage where Joker has just begun his trip. Its a hazy expedition where anything can happen. Stripped down and polished synths shimmer and vibrate with raw melody over galloping and splintered beats that see bodies jolt, twist and shake then explode like a gassy can of Vimto. The colourful synths slip and slide together like a cosmic audio rainbow that flicks and flutters raining down spots of multicoloured glitter. Joker is like a wizard behind the decks, tantalising the locked in masses with his vivid exploration through grime, dubstep, hiphop and glitzy funk like a bubbling cauldron of Rufus meets Plastician. His rendition of Dead Prez’s Hip Hop was a major highlight of the night.

On the way to the main stage where it is this time owned by the strutting Dizzee Rascal, who oozes swagger and confidence as he casually spits Chillin’ Wiv Da Man Dem out over a bobbing crowd. Everything seems in order here – Grins, check. Chants, check. Lingering hands in the air, check. Lazy females perched upon men’s shoulders as they sway to the tunes, check! The atmosphere has been doused in high spirited commercialism yet it still feels cool and the spirits remain sky high.

With the night fully descended the Random Concept tent has transformed into a deep and dark cave of grizzly riveting baselines and shuttering beats that flash through the place amidst the sharp neon flickers and flashes of lasers and light flourishes. Approaching the dome like entrance the earth underfoot appears less stable as the ground beneath grumbles and groans to the beat of dark choppy Drum & Bass. Some bodies emerge rapidly from the cave in thick clouds of neon smoke and franticly scuttle away with nauseous expressions stuck to their faces. These people only work to tempt the serious ravers into the darkness where the scene is reminiscent of a double time scene from The Dawn Of The Dead. Hundreds of sprawling bodies move like zombies, only in fast forward mode, plodding their feet and punching the air in a ferocious manner to the sound of Spor who is hammering out a flaming mixture of Drum & Bass and disturbing Dubstep.

Trudging over to the immense Godskitchen Boom Box tent after such an experience seems like a small trek but it all becomes clear once inside. Greeted by thousands of ravers totally immersed in the huge vertical set of neon decks spinning away behind the awesome Above & Beyond brings new meaning to the word breathtaking. The boys remain highlighted throughout the set, surrounded by an ever changing border of neon tricks and trips. From classic spinning trance style dancers to mesmerizing 3D cities built from flashing bars and blocks that whiz by to the euphoric breakdowns.

The Majority of the crowd clutch hold of their faithful TUNE! signs, whipping them high above their heads at each and every drop, accompanied by passionate woops and whistles that echo far and wide.

As morning beckons and the music begins to die, one tent remains strong, still half full with gaunt cryptic looking characters remaining filled with superhuman ferocity as they bite and snarl their way through the pulsing hardcore at 5am. Of course its the HTID Tent that attracts the last dregs of such a weird and wonderful two day society.

Blasts of smoke are churned out in to the morning air and with each cloud rolls within it a lost looking soul who probably parted with a few stone of sweat and part of their mind last night. Taking in a long deep breath with both hands gripped behind his head a skeleton looking type emerges with a boggled expression. Bald headed and dressed in only a pair of red shorts and a neon orange sweatband, the stone age figure looks proud to have survived and after a gracious bend and stretch he trundles on towards the sign marked Towards Campsite. Nice thinking, we’ll let this soldier lead the way!

Montreal native Lunice is a raw young talent with his hiphop fingers fully immersed in a whole world of exciting and pioneering pies.

Conquering the world of break-dancing was his entry route into the world of hiphop, and Lunice has since gone on to become a beatboxer, DJ and producer proving he is a versatile being of spectacular talent.

Lunice’s charismatic musical stance takes slices from a bountiful kaleidoscope of influences from Bossa Nova to Breakbeat which rings out in a truly innovative style through his sound.

His trip began as a B-Boy. At which point he began to attract attention on the underground circuit and later on Youtube with his experimental dance routines to tracks from artists such as Daft Punk and Lazersword. His routines attracted him a crew of devout fans on the edge of their seats bubbling with anticipation for his next show – myself being one of them.

Lunice is now focused on his music career and has recently been snapped up by the super cool Scottish born label LuckyMe. Being housed within this cult clique alongside the likes of Hudson Mohawke, Mike Slott and Rustie means Lunice is now nestled amongst some of the world’s most flavoursome and pioneering electro/hiphop artists and is destined for a bright future.

On stage and behind the decks Lunice is a major showman, exerting himself upon the crowd with wild dances and unstoppable energy. He will swagger with confidence from behind the DJ booth jacking the place up as he interprets his love for the music he plays, pulling out wave after wave of blindingly eccentric moves.

GBC talks to the rising young star to find out a little more about Lunice Fermin Pierre II…

So you seem to be a pretty eccentric character, even your name “Lunice” is pretty individual. Is there any particular meaning or backstory to how you came to be named?

Not much of a meaning because I couldn’t come up with a clever name so I just ended up using my actual name since there isn’t that many people called that. Although, what I like about it is that my name cannot be directly associated to rap compared to someone who would call himself Gunna Mane haha. So that opens many doors for experimentation and avoids the confusion of labelling your name to something that wouldn’t make sense in terms of genre and style.

Your HipHop roots span from your early days as a B-Boy. Fill us in on what got you in to this?

What really got me into breaking was the ability to flow and improvise on the beat of a tune. The whole mentality and style of a B-Boy is another thing that really intrigued me when I was a teenager. And I remember clearly on the day I fell in love with Breaking, I became a completely different person. Breaking is what got me into Soul, Motown, Funk and later Jazz.

Through your work it’s obvious that your a real hiphop head but what other genres do you draw influence from?

I draw influences from practically any genre that catches my ear and that I find interesting at that moment. Whatever genre I love, I tend to go deeper into it and try to figure out its history, sub-culture and the way the different way they do their composition compared to other genres. So on a regular day you can catch me listening to John Mclaughlin’s way of spacing then I would switch it to Lil B’s way of how he raps would influence the way I produce. Then on another day I would cut everything and listen to Classical music for a while. I love to listen to different kinds of music; I find it healthy for my brain.

You played a half hour set at Sonar in Barcelona this year. Sonar represents a massive scope of electronic music from some of most respected underground artists to a selection of the finest commercial stars on the lineup. How did feel to get your slot?

It truly felt unreal… Playing “A Taste of Sonar” event was already epic for me but actually being booked for Sonar was one hell of a feeling. My mind is still blown on the fact that I played that festival!

Tell us about a few of your other highlights from the past year or so.

Actually I recently played a festival in my hometown called Osheaga. And that event was something I’ve already dreamt of playing in one day. So when that day came, I made sure I would put on an amazing show for my close homies and the people of my city! And it was an amazing turn out! I’m so grateful to see so many people get down to what I love to rock to. It becomes this intense infinite exchange of good energy between me and the crowd. And plus it’s been a while since I’ve last played in my city!

What artist or artists can you not get enough of at the moment?

Lil B , Kool Clap, Girl Unit, Krystal Klear, Ramadanman, Ruckazoid.

Your style has been called “A mixture of beats, bass and splintered electronica” Can you put it into your own words for us?

Actually Diplo said it better for the kind of thing I’m doing right now “Jerk meets Dilla” haha. And if I would say it into my own words, I would say that it’s a collective of different genres I’ve come across put into a rap context. So right now I’m mainly trying to bridge the whole Pop aspect of Rap music with the whole underground “Backpacker” sub-culture of Rap music and to show the best of both worlds because I was once a heavy “Backpacker” back then haha.

You have recently signed to the LuckMe label. How did you get this hookup and how does it feel to be amongst such a stock of talent?

I believe it just naturally happened from staying connect with the whole fam and doing shows together. And how I feel to be part of this collective? I still feel overwhelmed because literally every artist in that label are people I looked up to in terms of that new sound I’ve been searching ever since I starting making music!

So Lunice, you’ve dabbled in dance, beatboxing, DJ’ing and producing – that’s quite an impressive list to be involved in. What’s the next next step and what else will you be unveiling this year?

Maybe not this year, but I will be working on different kind of music and trying to push myself even more to see where it would lead me while still keeping what I’ve learnt and apply it to whatever new sound I’m experimenting with. Other than that, I’ve been thinking about how I can develop dance styles the same way I produce a beat from the ground up. So right now I’m really just trying to fuse all that I do and to see how can it be presented and performed in public.

Tell us a little about your experience at RBMA 2010?

Attending the RBMA 2010 was probably the biggest thing to have happened to me in terms of me evolving as an artist. Talking to all the different participants and knowing about the way they got into music and how they see the whole world of music was so inspiring and motivating that it totally shaped my whole artistic process how I work on a song or think about music. I’m so grateful to have been part of this reunion of amazing artists!

When and where can we catch Lunice next?

I’ll be in San Francisco on September 10th playing a show with the homie Dj Dials! I’ll be mainly working on a possible Europe tour in the Winter.

Any final words?

Thank you, Basedgod.

The ever swelling Dubstep scene continues to pulse from its UK heart sending beefed up bass fuelled waves across the deepest of oceans and producing new talent popping up all over the world.

Two of the most exciting new producers come in the form of Canadian duo Zeds Dead who have stamped their mark on the scene with an innovative selection of gripping tracks and remixes.

Dubbed “The hottest new deuce on the scene” by Radio 1′s wizard of electro Kissy Sellout, the boys are creating a hot fuzzy buzz of arousal amongst some of the finest DJs of the moment.

Their style is a vivid compound of many forms of electronica with subtle glimmers of funk and mashed up indie. Combining luscious and lingering vocals with evil sounding splintered synths and warm growling bass is the basic foundation of their style which is then beaten and battered with pulses of wobbles, blips and beeps. The result conjures up visions of malfunctioning electronic household appliances coming to life and wreaking messy havoc upon their terrorised owners.

So far the majority of their work is remix based similar to the way that UK DJ and producer Jakwob has made his name. Their rework of Blue Foundation’s Eyes On Fire is both beautiful and disgusting at the same time which works to splatter a frenzy of pleasure across the musical tastebuds. Lazy sounding female vocals over a tenaciously plodding beat with spikes of electro jitters and jabs has never sounded better.

Their remix of Massive Attacks Paradise Circus is a particular favourite. Here The duo demonstrate their ability to create a energetic rework of a chilled out track whilst maintaining it’s original moodiness and laid back flavour.

They have already been coaxed away from the snowy hills of their home town of Ontario to the UK where they played alongside Bare Noize at Sound Control in Manchester last month, lets hope this will be the beginning of many more visits to come.

Their Bi-monthly brainchild event Bassmentality alongside their Toronto peers The Killabits has recently took a surge of power as it moves to new venue Wrongbar pumping thick blankets of bass through it’s Funktion1 soundsystem all summer. They were joined recently by UK Dustep maestro NERO.

Check out their Myspace for their latests tracks and remixes

Portsmouth Promoters Breakneck and UpDnB butted heads like two electronically charged battering rams, causing a phenomenal collision of musical supremacy that exploded from The Pyramids Centre at Southsea in the form of forerunner of the Drum & Bass world, Hospitality.

Half a mile down the seafront and the the energy brimming from The Pyramids is roaring down shore like a monstrous monsoon looking to drench any bystanders in a twisted concoction of drum & bass and Dubstep. Fuelled by a selection of the heaviest of hitters representing electronic music, the night was always destined to whip up a frenzy in Portsmouth.

The steps up to the entrance look challenging but the vibes thrown out of the place work to beckon and entice. Clambering up in any other situation, this time seems like floating on a magical cloud of energy. Barely inside and a bold display of chaotic mayhem coupled with a vivid display of lasers and neon light displays strike like a sting from a hornet. The whole place is saturated with passion that almost jumps from the walls and slithers throughout the crowd injecting the bodies with a hard shot of endurance in the form of skank fuel.

Joker works the crowd into sporadic fits of flamboyance, dropping a heavy display of Dubstep and Grime splattered with the occasional lick of Drum & Bass. It was as if he had reached down and scooped up the dancefloor into his grasp, with total control he is perched behind the decks like a puppet master in deep concentration as he ingeniously twiddles the emotion of the crowd like a thermostat dial. His remix of SMD’s Cruel Intentions and his own tracks Tron and Aint Got A Name blasted out shock waves that were close to sending the building into demolition.

Belgian wonder boy Netsky of Hospital Records smothered the place in silky strands of liquid indulgence with his set. He supplied the congregation with wave after wave of blissful and euphoric Drum & Bass that flowed like a wondrous and vibrant melodic rainbow. Throwing down a swirling medley of his own production combined with treats from the likes of High Contrast, B-Complex and Camo & Crooked he put on a stunning show leaving the crowd tingling in admiration.

Still as much a Pioneer in the game as he ever was, Shy FX blessed the decks with his usual charisma. Firing out a rampage of all things filthy he violently shook the dancefloor into a churning mess of flings and flails. Beads of sweat catapulted high up to the rafters in all the carnage as the skanking force took full hold of the floor.

Hospitality has become renowned throughout the UK as a force to reckoned with. The Brainchild of Hospital Records head honcho Tony Coleman began in London and has flourished far and wide leaving it’s mark on numerous places over the years. Hospitality is now known all over the world but credit must go out to the individual promoters in each town and city, in this case Breakneck fronted by the duo Owain Harris and Stuart Mullen and UpDnB ran by Sam Hill aka DJ Trubass.

The night carried a certain clout that is recognisable and evident due to dedication and passion. Portsmouth Hospitality was swarming with lashings of both!

Meshing together a dirty concoction of all things grim does not always result in darkness as London Producer Daimyo manages to prove with his latest release.

Daimyo has been one of my keep an eye on talents for sometime now, steadily grafting away and experimenting with futuristic sound, attempting to carve a new tunnel of sound underneath the capital.

New track ‘Venom’ takes all the individual ingredients capable of creating some kind of hellish musical cake for the dammed yet somehow manages to blend them to create a lavish electronic display that is instantly likeable. With a clunky beat dotted with blips and spikes, piercing electro synths coupled with eerie reverberation heavy strings and demonic vocal stabs the recipe sounds like something only edible by Lucifer himself. Daimyo though is able to bring to the table a new breed of Dubstep, Grime and Electro salad with these elements complete with a hot kick of glitchy dressing that will send your audio pallet into freak mode.

Hayling from Angel in Shoreditch, Daimyo is in the thick of experimental music and seems to combine influences and experiences through a quirky musical channel in his brain.

The B-side to Venom, entitled ‘Scepter’ is a edgy concoction of deeply shocking bass and raw sythns working together to sound like a G-Funk implosion being span through a cement mixer and splattered out across a bed or nails.

“My influences stem from travelling the rave scene and from absorbing a spectrum of genres over the years from Techno to Grime through tunnels of Hardcore, Drum and Bass and Garage. I’ve always been a true skanker and having my foot in all corners of the rave scene has opened me mind alot”

Daimyo has obviously lived and breathed the London underground for sometime and has finally now begun unleashing his musical arsenal on us, lets hope there’s more to come.
