The Norway Mystery

by Andy Ball on December 9, 2009

A mysterious large spinning blue and white light appeared over Norway last night and was seen by thousands of people in the North of the country. The light appeared to shoot up from behind a mountain before stopping mid air and steadily spinning, within moments a giant spiral of light had covered the sky, a blue spiral of light then shot out from the centre of the spiral, lasting for 10 to 12 minutes before disappearing completely.

Strange spiral: Residents in northern Norway were left stunned after the lightshow, which almost looked computer-generated, appeared in the skies above them

It has been hypothesised that it could be anything from a meteor or shock wave to a Russian missile, light projection or even a UFO. Experts have ruled out the possibility of the occurrence being linked to the natural phenomenon that is the Aurora Borealis.

Curious: A blue-green beam of light was reported to have come shooting out the centre of the spiral

The main suspicion seems to be that the display was linked to the testing of a Russian missile, as the nearby Sea’s have being used for such testing before. However the mystery has continued to deepen as the Russian Navy have come forward to deny conducting any missile tests in the area.

Confusion: The Norwegian Meteorological Institute was flooded with calls after the light storm

This light was seen by thousands of people and the pattern it created seems unlikely to be natural, please share with us any opinions of what this may be.
