High Dynamic Range Imaging, known HDR or HDRI, is a photography/imaging technique that gives a greater dynamic range of light and colour between the lightest and darkest areas of an image. The intention of HDR is to accurately represent the full spectrum of intensity levels found in real scenes, ranging from brightest sunlight to the darkest shadows.
High-dynamic-range photographs are made by capturing multiple standard photographs, and then merging them into an HDR image. Some of the images achieved look unreal, a vibrant slant on reality, even maybe fake, but keep in mind that they’ve all been developed out of usual photos, and not a single image is an illustration.
